Michael Rourke

Head Swimming & Diving/Head Water Polo

Coach Rourke joins Reagan in the 2019 – 2020 season as the Head Aquatics coach. Coach Rourke graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos with a Bachelor's of Science in Exercise and Sports Science and Mathematics. While in school, he was part of the Track and Field team as a sprinter, mainly focusing on the 100m and 200m races. He also was an All-State swimmer his sophomore through senior years of high school. Following college, he spent 2 years as the head swim coach and a Geometry teacher at Eaton High School in Haslet, Texas. He states that his highest goals for his athletes do not necessarily revolve around their performance in the pool. While he is very competitive and will always strive to win, his the definition of success lies within each individual swimmer. His philosophy is to not to take a young person and make them into a great athlete; but to take a young person and make them into a great adult. In his free time, Coach Rourke enjoys sports, reading, or spending time with family and friends.
